What Is Chaturbate?
Chaturbate broadcasters are paid in tokens, the platform's currency. The App Directory and help pages show the main ways broadcasters earn: public shows where viewers tip, private shows, tip goals, fan clubs, the sale of photos and videos through a profile, and interactive toys such as Lovense devices that respond to tips.
Each of these produces content you own. Chaturbate's own DMCA help page says that it does not claim ownership of your shows and that they are entirely your property.
The Stop Piracy App: What It Does
The Stop Piracy app is listed in Chaturbate's App Directory. It is made by StreamerSuite, a third-party app maker, not by Chaturbate itself.
According to its listing, the app is aimed at bots: it blacks out the stream for unregistered viewers for 15 seconds every 3 minutes, which leaves gaps in any recording a bot makes. To use it, open the app's page and follow the App Directory's steps; check the listing for how it is switched on, since the listing can change.
Know what it does not cover:
- It acts only on viewers without an account. A registered viewer who records the show, or someone filming a screen with a phone, is outside what the listing says it stops.
- It acts only on the live stream. It does not stop a paying fan from downloading a photo or video and sharing it.
- It does not detect or remove recordings that are already online.
Test the app before you rely on it in a show.
What You Can Do Before and During a Show
Add a visible watermark. A watermark with your username on your stream, photos and videos can make a copy easier to trace back to you and less attractive to repost. It does not stop recording. Adult Model Protection does not provide watermarking; it is in development.
Say you do not allow recording. Tell viewers in your profile that you do not allow recording of your shows.
Keep your originals. Keep your original files and a list of your show dates. They help if ownership of a recording is ever questioned.
How Chaturbate Handles DMCA Notices
Chaturbate's DMCA help page says its DMCA team will review a request and respond as soon as possible; it does not publish a response time. Its form asks for:
- Your contact email and your Chaturbate username
- The exact URL of each photo or video, not a search results page
- A ticked box confirming the details are accurate
- An e-signature
Chaturbate's terms say it has and enforces a repeat infringer policy and terminates the accounts of repeat infringers.
For copies on other sites, Chaturbate offers broadcasters a free DMCA notice service. It recommends that you first send a DMCA report directly to the site that hosts the copy, since most of those sites have their own form.
Not every copy of your room on another site is stolen. Chaturbate explains that authorized affiliate sites show live broadcasts, not recordings, and that all accounts are opted in by default; you can opt out under "Settings & Privacy" by setting "Appear on network sites" to "NO". Chaturbate says an affiliate site that still stores images of your broadcast more than 24 hours after your last stream can be reported through its DMCA form. Check whether a site is an affiliate showing your live room before you file: under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing can be liable for damages.
Your Rights Under the DMCA
In the United States, a copyright owner has the exclusive rights listed in 17 U.S.C. 106, including reproducing the work, preparing derivative works, distributing copies and performing the work publicly. If you broadcast on Chaturbate, you typically keep the copyright in your shows; check Chaturbate's terms for your own case.
A DMCA notice can be sent by the copyright owner or by a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)); when AMP files, it signs as your agent. A notice must identify your work and each copy, give contact details, and include a good faith statement, a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner, and a signature. To report a copy, collect the exact URL of each copy and the date you found it. Do not take screenshots of pages with sexual content; the link and the date are what the forms ask for.
If the uploader files a counter-notice, the platform may restore the content after 10 to 14 business days unless it is told within that period that the copyright owner has filed a court action (US Copyright Office). A lawsuit over a US work generally requires registration (or a refused application) first (17 U.S.C. 411(a)); ask a lawyer.
Copyright law is territorial, so a site hosted outside the United States may not act on a DMCA notice. In that case, escalation to the site's hosting provider or other services can be the next step.

Keeping Track of Copies Without Visiting Leak Sites

You can file yourself, for free: Chaturbate's form for content on Chaturbate, Chaturbate's free DMCA notice service or each site's own form for other sites, and Google's form for search results. You then find and list every URL yourself.

Common Situations
A viewer records your public show and uploads it to another site. The Stop Piracy app works against bots without an account, so a registered viewer's recording can still appear. Collect the URL and file with that site's form or Chaturbate's free notice service, or let AMP find the copies and file the notices.
A paying fan shares a video you sold. The app does not cover this. Each site that hosts a copy needs its own notice. We search for copies and send a notice for each site where we find one. AMP never identifies who leaked content.
Someone posts a deepfake of you. Chaturbate's tools do not apply, because the content did not come from Chaturbate. On the Glamour and higher plans, AMP searches for deepfakes and files removal requests.
