Snapchat DMCA Takedown Service
Snapchat's rules do not allow pornographic content, but it is still a place where leaked copies of creators' photos and videos show up, and where impersonators use a creator's name and photos. We file the reports that ask for their removal, on Snapchat and on the other sites where the copies appear.
Snapchat's Community Guidelines prohibit pornographic content and commercial activity related to pornography, so this page is not about selling content on Snapchat. It is about what other people post: reposted copies of your photos and videos, accounts that pretend to be you, and captured snaps that end up on other sites.
Snapchat takes copyright reports through its copyright form, from the copyright owner or an authorized representative. We file those reports as your authorized agent, file impersonation reports and reports for intimate images shared without consent as your authorized representative, and send notices to the other sites.
Snapchat takedowns are part of our social media and messenger removals, included on the Luxe and higher plans. Impersonation removal is included on the same plans.
How Leaks and Impersonators Show Up on Snapchat
Snaps are designed to disappear, but other people can still capture and share them. Photos and videos that were never meant to be public can be posted again, on Snapchat or on other sites.
Creators commonly report a few patterns: accounts that repost captured snaps or stories, compilation accounts that collect several creators' photos, impersonation accounts that use a creator's name and photos and ask fans for money or private content, and captured snaps that are posted on Instagram, TikTok, X or adult sites.
Which Snapchat Report Fits Your Case
Snapchat has separate reports for separate problems, and its reporting page is clear about it: the copyright form is for "Someone copied my creative work". For "Someone shared a Snap of me without my permission", harassment and safety issues, Snapchat says not to use the copyright or trademark tools, because "Those reports will be disregarded."
- A copy of a photo or video that you made and own: a copyright report
- An account pretending to be you: Snapchat's impersonation report
- Nudes or intimate images of you shared without your permission: Snapchat's report for intimate imagery
- Your copies on other sites: a DMCA notice to that site or its host
For intimate imagery, Snapchat's help page has a report under "They're actually sharing my nudes/intimate imagery without my permission". For paid content that you made and own, the copyright report is the route we use; the intimate-imagery report is for intimate images of you shared without your consent, such as private snaps. We pick the route that fits each case and file it for you; Snapchat decides on every report.

In the United States, the TAKE IT DOWN Act (Congressional Research Service summary) makes it a federal crime, with conditions, to knowingly publish intimate images of an identifiable adult or minor without consent. Covered platforms must remove a reported image within 48 hours of a valid request and make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies. The Act concerns intimate images shared without consent; we file TAKE IT DOWN Act requests for those images as your authorized representative on the Luxe and higher plans. Other countries have their own laws. Adult Model Protection is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
What a Valid Snapchat DMCA Notice Must Include
Snapchat only accepts copyright reports from the copyright owner or its authorized representative. A DMCA notice identifies your work and where the copy is, gives the sender's contact details, and includes a good faith statement, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and the sender is authorized, and a signature (US Copyright Office); each element is explained in how a DMCA notice works.
Snapchat does not publish a response time. Our estimate is 24 to 72 hours for a complete report; it is an estimate, not a guarantee, and some cases take longer.
Filing as Your Agent, and What Happens to Your Name
We file every Snapchat copyright report as your authorized agent, signed on behalf of Adult Model Protection, and a person on our takedown team checks each notice before it is sent. The rights holder named on the report is your model (stage) name; Snapchat's copyright help page does not say whether it shares the owner's name with the person who posted the content, so assume the uploader may see it. Your legal name is only shared with your consent, and only with a recipient that needs it and keeps it confidential; you can withdraw that consent at any time from your account.
The person who posted the content can file a counter notification, and Snapchat may restore the content after 10 to 14 business days unless it is told within that period that the copyright owner has filed a court action (US Copyright Office). Our takedown team tells you when a counter-notice arrives and explains your options; the decision is yours, and we do not give legal advice.
Snap's Terms of Service say "Don't use or share anyone else's content without their permission", and that Snap will take reasonable steps to suspend or terminate the account of a user who repeatedly infringes copyrights. What happens to an account is Snapchat's decision.
Filing Yourself or With AMP
You can file Snapchat's copyright form, impersonation report or intimate imagery report yourself, for free.
What AMP adds is the work around the forms: finding the copies in the first place, choosing the report that fits each case, filing under AMP's name instead of yours, checking each notice before it is sent, checking afterwards whether each copy is gone, and handling the copies on other sites.
After the Report: Removal Checks and Reposts
After a report is sent, we check whether each copy is gone, through page checks and manual checks, and you follow every request and its status in your dashboard. When a platform does not act, our takedown team sends a follow-up.
Our regular scans, reverse image searches with your content assets and manual searches look for your content again, and a repost that turns up gets a new notice. You get a notification when a scan finds a new copy, and you can submit links yourself from your dashboard, for example when a fan tells you about an account.
Content fingerprinting, which would also catch cropped or edited copies, and watermarking are in development and not current features. Your content assets are used only to search for copies and are never shared with third parties.
When Snaps End Up on Other Sites
We cannot stop capture tools themselves. We file takedowns against the copies they produce on the sites we scan: Google, Bing and Yandex and more than 500 known leak and piracy sites. Copies we find get their own takedown notices, to the site, its host or, when a site ignores us, its registrar, hosting provider or payment processor.
Copies on other social platforms are handled by our Instagram DMCA, TikTok DMCA and Twitter / X DMCA services, and copies in channels by Telegram content removal. Search engine de-indexing asks Google and Bing to drop infringing pages from their results; it is unlimited on every paid plan.
When an impersonator or a leak also exposes your real name or other personal details, private information removal on the Luxe and higher plans covers requests to remove them. If someone threatens to share images unless you pay, see sextortion and blackmail help.
If the content shows you under 18, or you are in danger
- Explicit images or videos of you taken before you were 18: use NCMEC's free Take It Down service and report to the CyberTipline. Adult Model Protection serves adults only.
- Explicit images of you as an adult shared without your consent: StopNCII.org is a free tool. If someone is threatening you, see sextortion and blackmail help.
- If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the US, or your local emergency number.
How It Works
Our team runs the scans, and every notice is checked by our takedown team before it is sent. Here is what happens from the moment you register to the moment we check that your content is gone.
Finding the Copies
Our team runs scans, reverse image searches with your content assets and manual searches, and you can submit links you find yourself.
Choosing the Right Report
Copyright for copies of your own work, impersonation for fake accounts, intimate imagery for images of you shared without permission.
Filing the Report
A person checks each notice, then we file it through Snapchat's reporting channels or to the other site, under AMP's name as your agent.
Removal Check and Follow-up
We check whether each copy is gone and follow up when it is not. You see the status of every request in your dashboard.
Reposts
Later scans and manual searches look for reposts, and each repost found gets a new notice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which plan do I need for Snapchat takedowns?
Snapchat takedowns are part of our social media and messenger removals, included on the Luxe and higher plans, together with impersonation removal. Search engine de-indexing of infringing pages is included on every paid plan. The Free plan includes a quarterly web scan but no takedowns.
Can you remove a private snap of me that someone shared?
Snapchat says not to use its copyright form for a Snap of you shared without your permission; it has its own reports for that, including one for intimate imagery shared without permission. We file that report as your authorized representative. If the same images are posted on other sites, we send those sites a DMCA notice.
Do you handle impersonation accounts on Snapchat?
Yes. Impersonation goes through Snapchat's impersonation report rather than a DMCA notice, and we file it as your authorized representative on the Luxe and higher plans. Snapchat decides on each report.
What if the same person keeps sharing my content?
What Snapchat does about repeat infringers is up to Snapchat; its terms say it will take reasonable steps to suspend or terminate such accounts. Each new copy we find gets a new notice.
Remove Snapchat Leaks and Impersonators
Adult Model Protection finds copies of your content and files the right report for each one, on Snapchat and on other sites. Start with the Free plan and its quarterly web scan to see what is already out there.
